    Greetings Members,

We ask of you to please support the NBAA in all of their efforts to battle the renewed interest in Air Traffic Control Privatization. Having a discussion with your Aircraft Owners, Corporate Executives and also your local and State Legislators are the way that we will create momentum and proper education. You’ve seen this topic mentioned a lot recently and while the NBAA has been fighting this issue for the past 20 years…they’ve never had this much focus on the issue and direct support from a current political administration.

I’d like to keep this email brief since we’ve provided links below that are very helpful in understanding the concerns surrounding this issue so I’ll summarize each attachment and its importance.

We appreciate all of your continued support and please feel free to reach out to me directly should you have any questions on these issues or how you can become more involved.

    Sincerely,

    Christopher Salley
    SFBAA Board Vice President

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., July 14, 2016 - Applications for the 2016 South Florida Business Aviation Association (SFBAA) aviation scholarships are currently being accepted; the submission deadline is August 1, 2016. Local high school students can find eligibility criteria and download an application on our homepage: sfbaa.org.

The SFBAA scholarship program is designed to reward an outstanding south Florida high school senior that plans to further his/her education in the aviation field. Three finalists will be selected and one winner will receive up to $3,500 to go toward the school of his/her choosing.

The Dave Davis Memorial Scholarship recognizes a south Florida high school senior who has made an outstanding community service contribution throughout his/her high school career. The winner will receive a minimum of $3,500 to go toward his/her college education.

“The SFBAA scholarships play a vital role in the lives of graduating high school seniors,” said Jeff Ramsden, SFBAA president. “They are the future of our industry and we hope to support them through our scholarships for many years to come.”

Twenty-eight local high school students applied for the SFBAA’s 2015 scholarships. Entries were reviewed and winners were selected by the organization’s scholarship committee.

The SFBAA gave $3,500 general scholarships to Hakeem Bailey of Spanish River High School in Boca Raton and Kyle Miller of Deerfield Beach High School. Both students plan to put their scholarships toward their education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Additionally, the SFBAA awarded a $5,000 Dave Davis Memorial scholarship to Cristina Trabada of West Broward High School in Pembroke Pines, Fla. Trabada received the scholarship for her work as a camp counselor at Experience Aviation’s STEM Summer Academy in Opa-Locka, Fla.

The SFBAA has raised more than $200,000 for scholarships and charities in the past 12 years.
