1st General Membership
Meeting of 2019

Our first General Membership Meeting of the year will be taking place on Thursday, March 28th from 6 to 8pm at the Signature FBO at the Boca Raton Airport (BCT).  We are pleased to welcome Joe Kittinger as our headline speaker.

Joe Kittinger is a distinguished aviator & Air Force veteran who has led an incredible life and will be sharing his numerous stories with us.  He served three combat tours in Vietnam, was shot down and held as prisoner of war for over a year, and has been awarded the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Harmon Trophy, and a host of other military and civilian awards.  He is a true American hero, with a career full of amazing feats, some of which include:

  • World Record Parachute Jump (102,800 feet)
  • First man to exceed sound barrier in free-fall & longest free-fall
  • First Atlatnic Ocean crossing solo balloon flight
  • Five stratospheric balloon flights
  • 483 Combat missions during 28 year US Air Force career
  • 16,000 hours of flight time in 68 different types of aircraft
  • Four time winner of Gordon Bennett Trophy (Gas Balloon Race)
  • Consultant for Project Stratos where Felix Baumgartner jumped from a balloon 128,000 ft, breaking the record Joe set 52 years earlier
  • Enshrined at the National Aviation Hall of Fame, Parachutist Hall of Fame, Balloon Hall of Fame, and the Florida Aviation Hall of Fame
  • Awarded the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum Lifetime Achievement Award
